Ammunition & Charges
Here you find Frequency Crystals, Ammunition, Missiles, Cap Boosters, Mining Crystals and Scan Probes.
- Frequency Crystals are charges for energy weapons
- Projectile Ammo for projectile weapons
- Hybrid Charges for hybrid weapons
Missiles have three varieties:
- Those that need a target lock
- Those that don't require a target lock (Friend or Foe missiles, FoF)
- Defender Missiles, which shoot down incoming missiles
All crystals, charges and missiles come in different sizes.
Cap Boosters are charges for Capacitor Boosters, which inject quick energy into your capacitor. Mining Crystals increase your mining output and are used on modulated mining lasers and Scan Probes let you find hidden ships and exploration sites as well as giving you details on the composition of moons. They need to be launched in a Probe Launcher.
Blueprints
Blueprints are needed to produce all items within EVE universe. On the market you can only buy the T1 (Tech 1) versions of BPO (Blueprint Original). Keep in mind that some race specific blueprints are only available from NPC, usually in the space that is claimed by their faction.
T2 (Tech 2) blueprints are not sold by NPC, so you will very rarely find them on the market, if at all. Usually, T2 blueprints are traded directly among players or through the Contracts system.
Drones
Drones are little bots that can be launched into space and controlled via the drone interface below the overview. Distinction can be made between several types of drones:
- Combat Drones - come in three sizes: Light Scout Drones, Medium Scout Drones and Heavy Attack Drones. Additionally there are Fighters, which only get used by Carriers and Motherships and Sentry Guns, which are stationary and don't move unless they get picked up.
- Combat Utility Drones - can either drain energy from a ship or slow it down by webbing it.
- Electronic Warfare Drones - can target paint, sensor dampen, jam or tracking disrupt and
- Logistic Drones - can repair the shields or the armor of another ship, but don't work on your own ship.
- Mining Drones - mine asteroids and transport the ore to the cargohold of your ship.
- Drone Upgrades - are modules that enhance the performance of drones.
Implants & Boosters
Implants give you all sorts of bonuses - however, once they are plugged in they can't be removed without being destroyed. Being pod-killed also destroys them.
Combat Boosters are drugs that can be taken and that bring a temporary boost of some attributes. However, there is a chance-based penalty for their use.
Manufacture & Research
All items in this category are used for some sort of process that has to do with production in EVE universe. Minerals are needed for a huge variety of items and are gained from Ore, which is mined in asteroid belts, as well as Alloys & Compounds, which are loot drops from Rogue drones.
T2 production also uses Minerals, but one of the main branches here are moon minerals, or Raw Materials as the category is called. To get the final T2 product, a chain of different reactions and production activities is needed, in which process Advanced Materials, Processed Materials, Complex Reactions, Simple Reactions, Tools and Construction Components play a role. Tools are also needed to copy and research T2 blueprints.
T2 BPOs are very rare, but through invention it possible to obtain inefficient T2 BPCs. In the process of invention, specific items are used in order to increase a chance of successful invention. Prototypes & Datafiles, Data Interfaces and Datacores have a role in invention process and can be found under this market category.
For the production of capital ships, Capital Ship Components are needed. Similarly, in construction of an outpost, a station owned by players as opposed to being owned by a NPC corporation, Station Components are needed. Another branch of production is that of rigs, which utilises Salvaged Materials extracted from ship wrecks.
The Raw Materials mentioned earlier, are gathered by moon mining with the so-called POS (Player Owned Stations). These use different Ice Products which are gained from Ice Ore mined in Ice belts. Capital Ships also use products from this category for their cynofields, which allow them to jump in place of the stargates used by other ships.
The items in the category Artefacts & Lore are used for the production of alien tech modules, which are extremely rare. Those can be gathered in COSMOS missions.
There is a new line of manufacturing in eve, namely Combat Boosters, which are like drugs for a ship - they temporarily enhance its attributes. Items used in booster production are Booster Materials, Gas Clouds, Complex Biochemical Reactions and Simple Biochemical Reactions.
