EVE Skill training failed
My skill training seems to have failed, what do I do?
Sometimes players experience problems with skill training. The symptoms are as follows:
A player trains a skill but once the training is finished then the skill does not upgrade correctly to the next level.
Or, a skill may suddenly start displaying 'completion imminent' even if it is nowhere near training. This message will usually persist until the player cancels the training, at which point the skill reverts to its true point value. No points are lost in the process.
This is a display bug and can be solved by doing the following:
- Train a different skill for a while.
- Train the original skill again for a minute or so - no more - then abort the training. The correct level should appear immediately.
If the problem still remains the following workaround is known to help:
Exit the game and go to %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\ on Windows XP

Simply copy and paste the paths into the explorers address bar or into the field you get by Start-Run or Windows-Key + R (without the " )

The users preference folder is located at: /Users/username/Library/Preferences/Eve Online/Preferences/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE.
Linux
The cache and settings folder for Linux on a single-user installation is
/home/username/.cedega/EVE Online/c_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE
The cache and settings folder for linux on a multi-user installation is a variable location in a shared folder, as selected during EVE Online Starter Kit installation.
That should solve the problem since it clears all of your EVE in-game configurations. Note that it will also reset your ingame settings to default.
